Job Description
We are seeking several road builders (m/f/d) to join our team in the canton of Valais. Your responsibilities will include:
- Participating in construction, renovation, and maintenance activities for road infrastructures, sidewalks, parking lots, and pedestrian areas.
- Securing the construction site by setting up cones, barriers, signaling devices, and traffic lights as work progresses.
- Identifying level and layout points, existing structures, and networks while ensuring accurate ground marking.
- Materializing and checking slopes using tools like rulers and bubble levels.
- Preparing surfaces for treatment, ensuring they are clean, even, and free of potholes or cracks, and performing pavement cuts.
- Guiding and assisting milling machines and cleaning substrates.
- Applying binders for bonding layers using specialized equipment such as heated tank trucks.
- Implementing hot asphalt supplied by dump trucks for finishing work.
Long-term Work Expectations
- Knowledge of signaling instructions, environmental compliance, and site safety.
- Ability to apply asphalt and manually level platforms.
- Proficiency in reading plans, executing layouts, and conducting surveys.
- Skilled in laying curbs, gutters, pavers, and exposed concrete.
- Familiarity with earthworks, concreting, and surfacing processes.
- Ideally, completed training in road construction (Rake operator, Road builder CFC, Civil engineering mason) or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
