Your Responsibilities

As a project member, you will be responsible for the realization of a digital corpus of the inscriptions of Pergamon, working closely with the project leader. Your primary tasks will include:

• Editing (text edition, translation, annotation) of the inscriptions in a digital corpus according to EpiDoc guidelines.
• Further developing the digital infrastructure.
• Coordinating the project with external partners.
• Handling administrative tasks related to the project.

You will manage your work on the project independently, with support from student assistants, while maintaining close communication with staff on other epigraphic projects at the Chair.

Your Profile

We expect the following qualifications from you:

• A Ph.D. in Ancient History or another discipline within Classical Studies.
• Demonstrated research interests in Greek History.
• Knowledge of Greek epigraphy.
• Good command of Ancient Greek.

While experience with digital text editing according to TEI/EpiDoc guidelines is ideal, these skills may also be acquired after commencing the position. An interest in developments within the field of Digital Humanities is also considered an asset.
