Your Responsibilities

As a project member, you will play a key role in the realization of a digital corpus of the inscriptions of Pergamon, collaborating closely with the project leader. Your primary tasks will include:

• Editing (text edition, translation, annotation) of the inscriptions in a digital corpus in accordance with EpiDoc guidelines.
• Contributing to the further development of the digital infrastructure.
• Coordinating the project with external partners.
• Handling administrative tasks as part of the project.

You will be responsible for organizing your work on the project independently while receiving support from student assistants. Additionally, you will maintain close communication with colleagues working on other epigraphic projects at the Chair.

Your Profile

We expect the following qualifications from you:

• A PhD in Ancient History or a related discipline within Classical Studies.
• Demonstrated research interests in Greek History.
• Knowledge of Greek epigraphy.
• Strong command of Ancient Greek.

Ideally, you should have prior experience with digital text editing according to TEI/EpiDoc guidelines; however, these skills may also be acquired after commencing the position. An interest in developments in the field of Digital Humanities will be considered an asset.
