Your Responsibilities

The role involves data analysis and requires strong programming skills. The duties of a scientific assistant include the following:

  • Assisting with data collection and preparation, particularly focusing on spatial data and firms' financial statement data.
  • Assisting in the estimation of Bayesian models to predict the environmental impacts of millions of companies.
  • Designing and implementing information experiments.
  • Contributing to the documentation of data and code on GitHub.
  • Assisting in drafting presentations, reports, and policy briefs.
  • Providing teaching support, including assistance in instruction and updating teaching materials.

Your Profile

We are seeking curious, motivated, and quantitatively strong candidates. The ideal applicant will possess:

  • A Master's degree in economics, finance, accounting, data science, computer science, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Programming experience in several of the following languages: Python (required), R, Stata, SQL, React, or Node.js.
  • Experience with large-scale data analysis, applied statistics, or empirical research.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English.
  • Preferred (but not required): Some exposure to accounting, such as a course during a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • Preferred (but not required): Prior experience as a research assistant.
