Your Responsibilities
The role involves data analysis and requires strong programming skills. The duties of a scientific assistant include the following:
- Assisting with data collection and preparation, particularly focusing on spatial data and firms' financial statement data.
- Assisting in the estimation of Bayesian models to predict the environmental impacts of millions of companies.
- Designing and implementing information experiments.
- Contributing to the documentation of data and code on GitHub.
- Assisting in drafting presentations, reports, and policy briefs.
- Providing teaching support, including assistance in instruction and updating teaching materials.
Your Profile
We are seeking curious, motivated, and quantitatively strong candidates. The ideal applicant will possess:
- A Master's degree in economics, finance, accounting, data science, computer science, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Programming experience in several of the following languages: Python (required), R, Stata, SQL, React, or Node.js.
- Experience with large-scale data analysis, applied statistics, or empirical research.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English.
- Preferred (but not required): Some exposure to accounting, such as a course during a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- Preferred (but not required): Prior experience as a research assistant.
