Your Responsibilities
As part of the ZuReach project, your tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Participating in the design, planning, and implementation of data collection protocols, online and paper-based questionnaires, and focus group discussions.
- Developing materials in both German and English, such as flyers, data collection protocols, project descriptions, participants' consent forms, scientific reports, and meeting minutes.
- Contributing to participant recruitment and scheduling by engaging with adults from diverse backgrounds (e.g., the general community, university students) through various channels (social media, mailing, email, in-person, flyers).
- Training and instructing participants in data collection methodologies.
- If necessary, conducting on-site data collection in the cities of Zurich and Winterthur.
- Researching data quality assessment and assisting in verifying and analyzing collected datasets.
- Utilizing AI and digital methods for image processing to extract accessibility features (e.g., width, smoothness) when required.
- Collaborating with researchers, public organizations, and other institutions.
Your Profile
We are seeking a highly motivated and open-minded researcher with a passion for science and an independent, efficient, organized, and effective work style. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- A completed bachelor's degree in Geography, GIScience, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- A strong foundation in quantitative data analysis, statistical analysis, computational modeling, and programming (e.g., Python, SQL, R).
- Knowledge of qualitative study design and data analysis.
- Familiarity with spatial data storage and databases.
- Experience in machine learning/deep learning, image processing, and spatial data analysis is desirable.
- Excellent social skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups of people; being helpful, respectful, approachable, and team-oriented.
- Previous experience in interdisciplinary projects is an asset.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Fluency in both written and spoken German and English; knowledge of other Swiss national languages (Italian and French) is a plus.
- A valid Swiss residency permit is mandatory.
