REGIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
ROLE
The Regional Business Development Director's mission is to cultivate new business with existing customers while acquiring new clients in a geographically and culturally diverse regional market, particularly in the Middle East region.
The key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing a business development strategy for the region to achieve financial and non-financial targets.
- Setting targets for new business and identifying potential opportunities for growth.
- Leveraging existing relationships within government ministries and agencies to enhance awareness of the company’s products in new or underserved industry segments. Building and maintaining a robust network of relevant partners for successful governmental and non-governmental business in the region.
- Collaborating with the strategy office and market intelligence team to gather market data and intelligence, supporting strategy execution, accurate forecasting of market trends, and positioning SICPA at the forefront of market opportunities.
- Managing qualified leads from the initial business opportunity stage through to the effective signing of contractual agreements.
- Building and developing a network of internal and external resources to identify and secure key business opportunities. Ensuring alignment of internal resources to service both new and ongoing business in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
- Acting as a key interface with operations teams to ensure the seamless implementation of all projects between the customer, sales, and the SICPA support structure.
- Actively participating and representing SICPA at key market events and conferences worldwide.
PROFILE
- Experienced business developer with at least 10 years of successful sales management in a business-to-government environment; understanding government decision-making processes and markets is essential.
- Experience working in the Middle East region.
- A proven track record of achievement and growth in selling products and solutions within developing market segments.
- Strong prior understanding and appreciation for technology, with specific knowledge in inks/coatings or security technology being advantageous.
- Unquestioned professional ethics and integrity.
- A flexible mindset, able to adapt to changing markets and conditions.
- A tenacious go-getter capable of executing a long-term strategy with minimal direction, yet comfortable collaborating with global business and functional heads.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; articulate, confident, and persuasive in influencing peers, partners, and customers across diverse geographies and cultures.
- Able to operate across functions and manage numerous stakeholders.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with high energy and stamina.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages, such as Arabic, is a significant asset.
