Group Functions

Your Role

We are expanding our global Red Team and seeking additional testers based in Krakow or Wroclaw. Your mission will be to enhance security across the bank by simulating real-world cyber-attacks.

The ideal candidate will have experience in security testing, preferably with some red team involvement, ideally from a large corporate or consultancy environment. We are particularly interested in individuals who are passionate about cyber security—those who stay informed about threats, vulnerabilities, and techniques out of genuine interest, not just as a job requirement. Moreover, we value candidates who can effectively translate technical findings into business risks.

The role requires an inquisitive mindset, the ability to think outside the box, and a broad technical skill set. While technical certifications such as CREST or OSCP are beneficial, they are not mandatory. However, proficiency in writing clear reports in business English is essential, along with project management skills and personal organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

As a mid-level tester, you will collaborate with highly skilled and experienced peers, offering ample opportunities for professional growth and technical development. Your duties will include:

  • Developing red team scenarios in collaboration with stakeholders and management, consistent with real-world cyber threats.
  • Engaging collaboratively with blue teams and other security monitoring functions.
  • Executing controlled red team exercises by emulating the tactics, techniques, and procedures of cyber threat actors.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders during testing.
  • Compiling and submitting detailed reports of findings, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Participating in operational briefings and presentations tailored to technical teams, non-technical stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Providing technical expertise to the bank as needed.

Your Team

You will join the global Cyber Testing & Assurance team, which functions as a second-line assurance testing unit within Compliance & Operational Risk Control. Our presence extends across the UK, Switzerland, and Poland. This is a hybrid role—UBS supports remote working, but some office attendance will be required.

Your Expertise

  • A strong technical background, preferably in cyber security.
  • Hands-on experience executing penetration testing and/or red team assessments of critical business assets.
  • Good working knowledge of enterprise architectures, operations, and IT control environments.
  • Detailed and up-to-date understanding of threat and vulnerability management techniques and tools.
  • An inquisitive mind and a genuine passion for security research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex technical matters in a business-focused and risk-centric manner.
  • Formal security testing certifications are advantageous (e.g., CREST, Offensive Security, GIAC, etc.).
