NEOVIVA is a private medical-psychotherapeutic boutique clinic located on the picturesque shores of Lake Lucerne in Canton Lucerne. We specialize in treating clients grappling with problematic substance use and associated mental disorders, utilizing an internationally recognized treatment model. Our clinic proudly serves English-speaking clients from Switzerland and abroad, following an abstinence- and recovery-oriented approach. Our clients engage in a high-intensity, group-based psychotherapeutic program employing evidence-based methods for a minimum of four weeks. NEOVIVA holds a license from Swiss Authorities and is distinguished as Switzerland's only international, highly specialized group-based addiction treatment clinic.
Position Available: Recovery Counsellors
We are currently looking to hire several Recovery Counsellors immediately or by mutual agreement.
Your Profile
- At least 10 years of continuous abstinence
- Active participation in mutual aid groups (e.g., AA, NA)
- Deep understanding of your own recovery process, with the ability to share insights in a nuanced manner
- High level of professional and personal competence as an 'expert from experience'
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team under medical leadership
- Training or certification in Counselling is an advantage
- Empathetic and unbiased approach to connecting with others
- Strong social skills and an appreciative attitude towards culturally diverse and international clients
- Excellent command of English (C2 professional proficiency); proficiency in other languages is advantageous
- Eligibility for a work permit in Switzerland (for CH/EU/EFTA nationals)
Your Tasks
- Participate in and co-moderate group therapy sessions
- Support clients during breaks and leisure activities
- Assist clients in their transition and return home, addressing all recovery-related aspects
- Plan and organize clients' attendance at 12-step meetings
- Drive and accompany clients to 12-step meetings as necessary
- Ensure safe client pickups and drop-offs at their point of arrival (airports, train stations)
- Organize and supervise overnight, on-call, and weekend duties
- Participate in clinical meetings
- Support the client relations and clinical teams as required
- Document treatment-related activities in the medical health record software
