We offer specialized treatment for clients dealing with problematic substance use and related mental disorders. Our evidence-based treatment concept adheres to internationally recognized models and is tailored for English-speaking clients from Switzerland and abroad. At NEOVIVA, we embrace an abstinence and recovery-oriented philosophy, providing a high-intensity, group-based psychotherapeutic program that spans a minimum of four weeks. As Switzerland's only international, highly specialized group-based addiction treatment clinic, we are licensed by Swiss authorities, ensuring the highest standards of care.

About the Position

We are currently seeking several Recovery Counsellors to start immediately or by agreement.

Your Profile

  • At least 10 years of continuous abstinence
  • Active participation in mutual aid groups (AA, NA, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of your own recovery process and the ability to share it in a nuanced way
  • High level of professional and personal competence as an "expert from experience"
  • Ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team under medical leadership
  • Training or certification in Counselling is advantageous
  • Empathetic and unbiased approach towards others
  • Strong social competence, with an appreciative attitude and empathy for culturally diverse and international clients
  • Excellent command of English (C2 professional proficiency); other languages are a plus
  • Must be eligible for a work permit in Switzerland (CH/EU/EFTA nationals)

Your Responsibilities

  • Participate in and co-moderate group therapy sessions
  • Support clients during treatment breaks and leisure activities
  • Assist clients in their transition and return home across all recovery-related aspects
  • Plan and organize clients' attendance at 12-step meetings
  • Transport and accompany clients to 12-step meetings when necessary
  • Manage client pickups and drop-offs at their arrival ports (airports, train stations)
  • Organize and supervise overnight, on-call, and weekend duties
  • Participate in clinical meetings
  • Support the client relations and clinical team as needed
  • Document treatment-related activities in the medical health record software
