W Talent is collaborating with a dynamic manufacturing company situated in Alfreton, Derbyshire, in search of a Quality Manager to oversee the quality function across the organization. This position is ideal for a Senior Quality Engineer ready to advance into a management role, or for an experienced Quality Manager seeking a new challenge in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Quality Manager Responsibilities

This hands-on role centers on Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001 compliance, continuous improvement, and the promotion of quality standards throughout the organization. The successful candidate will gain the opportunity to take real ownership of the quality function, working closely with production, health and safety, engineering, and other essential departments to identify areas for improvement, enhance processes, and cultivate a positive quality culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the Quality function across the business.
• Manage, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and business processes.
• Identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to improve quality, reduce defects, and minimize repeat issues.
• Develop and enhance quality processes, procedures, and standards.
• Monitor key quality performance indicators and utilize data to pinpoint areas for improvement.
• Lead internal audits and support external/customer audits.
• Manage non-conformances, corrective actions, and customer complaints.
• Foster a strong quality culture throughout the manufacturing operation.
• Support the introduction and enhancement of standard operating procedures and quality controls.
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues on quality requirements and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and overall process performance.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will reside within a commutable distance of Alfreton, Derbyshire, possess strong technical skills, be commercially aware, and thrive on making improvements rather than simply maintaining the status quo. Additional qualifications include:

• Previous experience in a Quality Engineering or Quality Management role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.
• Experience in conducting internal audits and managing corrective actions.
• A proven track record in driving process and continuous improvement.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience collaborating with Production and Engineering teams.
• The confidence to challenge processes and drive improvements across the business.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Salary and Benefits
