Position Overview

We are seeking a Quality Manager Plant based at our Zurich-area site in Switzerland, reporting to the Site Manager. This role will focus on maintaining and enhancing the quality standards of our products while ensuring a safe working environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Enforce safe systems of work and hold management accountable for health and safety performance.
  • Provide safe equipment and a working environment, ensuring all employees/contractors wear the necessary personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure timely training and supervision for department employees to safely carry out their tasks.
  • Strive for zero recordable injuries in compliance with internal policies and external legislation, while investigating safety and environmental incidents.
  • Manage Quality Control systems and oversee quality control for site-manufactured batches.
  • Supervise staff including hiring, training, performance evaluation, compensation recommendations, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Manage incoming procured raw materials and oversee the filling/pigmentation of third-party products.
  • Prepare and compile Certificates of Analysis and Certificates of Conformity for all products.
  • Maintain the electronic Quality Control Record Management System in accordance with ISO9001/ISO14001 standards.
  • Prepare and own the Site Quality Plan in line with regional and corporate quality requirements.
  • Report Quality Statistics, including total batches, OTMIS, distressed batches, and product quality complaints.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to drive improvements in OTMIS and reduce distressed batches.
  • Review product quality complaints and coordinate investigations as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with SW Quest Quality Standards.
  • Manage audit schedules and implement actions from audits to maintain company standards.
  • Assist in the development and application of continuous improvement techniques.
  • Conduct audits of finished product quality.
  • Support production management and assist teams in problem-solving.
  • Facilitate effective training and development for the QC team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Chemistry, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Preferred certification or license within a quality program or relevant body of knowledge.
  • Five years of progressive experience in the manufacturing industry, including supervisory experience.
  • Experience in applying comprehensive quality management principles and practices.
  • Ability to develop and implement programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Skill in investigating and resolving complex product and operational problems.
  • Leadership experience in cross-departmental activities.
  • Expertise in auditing comprehensive quality programs and operations.
  • Familiarity with developing, analyzing, and reviewing quality reports and documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant applications.
  • Strong communication skills to provide and receive direction from co-workers.
  • Fluent in German and English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
