Job Opportunity: Quality Manager Plant

We are currently seeking a Quality Manager Plant for our Zurich-area site in Switzerland, reporting directly to the Site Manager. This key position plays a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of quality and safety.

Core Responsibilities

  • Enforcing safe systems of work and holding management accountable for their health and safety performance.
  • Providing safe equipment and a safe working environment, ensuring all employees and contractors wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Ensuring departmental employees are adequately informed, instructed, trained, and supervised to safely execute their tasks.
  • Striving for zero recordable injuries in compliance with internal policies and external legislation, through the execution of key activities such as Near Misses and Safety Observations.
  • Managing Quality Control systems and overseeing the quality control of site-manufactured batches.
  • Supervising staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, compensation recommendations, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Maintaining the electronic Quality Control Record Management System in accordance with agreed procedures and requirements, aligned with ISO 9001/ISO 14001.
  • Reporting on Quality Statistics, including total batches, OTMIS, distressed batches, and product quality complaints.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to drive improvements in OTMIS and reduce distressed batches.
  • Reviewing product quality complaints and coordinating investigations as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with SW Quest Quality Standards.
  • Taking ownership of audit schedules and driving actions from those audits to maintain company standards.
  • Assisting in the application of continuous improvement techniques within your team and across the site.
  • Conducting audits of finished product quality.
  • Providing support for production management and assisting teams across the company with problem-solving.
  • Facilitating effective training and development for the QC team.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Chemistry, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Certification or license within a quality program or body of knowledge is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience within the manufacturing industry, including supervisory experience.
  • Experience in applying comprehensive quality management principles and practices.
  • Ability to develop and implement quality programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Proven track record in investigating and resolving complex product and operational problems.
  • Experience leading cross-departmental activities.
  • Proficient in auditing comprehensive programs and operations for quality.
  • Experienced in developing, analyzing, and reviewing quality reports and documentation.
  • Ability to interpret and apply department policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Effective communication skills for clear direction and collaboration.
  • Fluency in both German and English is required; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
