Job Opening: Quality Manager Plant

We are currently seeking a Quality Manager for our Zurich-area site in Switzerland, who will report to the Site Manager. This pivotal role will encompass a range of responsibilities focused on maintaining and enhancing our quality systems.

Core Responsibilities

  • Enforce safe work systems and hold management accountable for health and safety performance.
  • Provide safe equipment and working environments, ensuring employees and contractors are equipped with appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure employees are adequately informed, instructed, trained, and supervised to safely carry out their work.
  • Strive for a safe working environment with a goal of zero recordable injuries, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external legislation.
  • Manage Quality Control systems and oversee quality control for site-manufactured batches.
  • Supervise staff, including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and determining necessary disciplinary actions.
  • Prepare and compile Certificates of Analysis and Certificates of Conformity for all products.
  • Maintain the electronic Quality Control Record Management System in accordance with established procedures and ISO standards (ISO9001/ISO14001).
  • Develop and own the Site Quality Plan in alignment with regional and corporate quality requirements.
  • Report on Quality Statistics, including total batches and product quality complaints.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve OTMIS and reduce distressed batches.
  • Review product quality complaints and coordinate necessary investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with SW Quest Quality Standards and maintain audit schedules while driving actions from audits.
  • Assist in developing continuous improvement techniques within the site and your team.
  • Conduct audits of finished product quality and provide performance data analysis support to your team.
  • Facilitate effective training and development for the QC team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Preferred certification or license within a quality program or body of knowledge.
  • Five years of progressive experience in the manufacturing industry, including supervisory experience.
  • Experience in applying comprehensive quality management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Capability in investigating and resolving complex product and operational problems.
  • Expertise in auditing comprehensive quality programs and operations.
  • Ability to develop, analyze, and review quality reports and documents.
  • Competence in interpreting and applying department policies, laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Strong PC skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively provide and receive direction.
  • Fluency in German and English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
