W Talent is excited to partner with a premium engineering manufacturer in the search for a Compliance & Quality Engineer for their Skelmanthorpe facility. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented quality professional to become an integral part of a growing organization that prioritizes engineering excellence, product quality, and continuous improvement.

The Role

As a Compliance & Quality Engineer, you will be pivotal in ensuring that both internally manufactured and externally supplied components adhere to the necessary engineering specifications and quality standards before advancing through the production process. You will collaborate closely with the Production, Purchasing, and Stores departments to enhance quality assurance, compliance, and process consistency, thus reinforcing the company's reputation as a premium manufacturer in its sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct dimensional inspections and measurements of machined and purchased components against engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Utilize a variety of manual and automated inspection equipment, including CMMs, Faro Arms, and other precision metrology tools.
  • Identify and manage non-conformance issues, supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions as needed.
  • Generate accurate inspection reports, quality records, and compliance documentation.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of SOP-driven processes to enhance product quality and consistency.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Purchasing, and Stores to ensure the efficient flow of components throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer specifications, and industry regulations.
  • Promote Health & Safety standards, maintaining a safe, compliant, and organized working environment.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance quality and operational performance.

Key Requirements

  • Recognized Mechanical Engineering qualification or completion of a time-served apprenticeship (City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3, BTEC National or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a quality inspection, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong capability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience with precision inspection and measurement equipment, including CMMs or Faro Arms, is highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, coupled with a methodical and quality-focused approach.
  • Robust communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience in ERP systems being advantageous.
  • A proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and maintaining high quality standards.

Salary and Benefits Package

A competitive salary ranging from £30,000 to £40,000 is offered, depending on experience. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package, including annual bonus potential, a 6% employer pension contribution, fully funded private healthcare, and access to salary sacrifice schemes such as Techscheme and Cyclescheme.
