Quality Assurance Manager Position at the Experimental Animal Center

The Experimental Animal Center (EAC) is responsible for all in-vivo research at the University of Bern. We prioritize the care of our animals and the infrastructure required for conducting animal experiments. Guided by the principles of the 3Rs (Reduce, Refine, Replace), our commitment to the "Culture of Care," and adherence to regulatory guidelines, we strive for excellence in our research programs.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the continued success of our research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of study activities to verify adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on quality assurance practices.
  • Collaborate with study directors, principal investigators, and facility managers to ensure that all research activities meet quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain documentation and records related to quality assurance activities, including audit reports, training records, and SOPs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and external auditors.
  • Stay updated with changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices, implementing necessary updates to the quality assurance program.
  • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the Centre.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or related field; a degree in Quality Management or a Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles is a plus.
  • Demonstrated management experience in complex structures.
  • Goal-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
