Group QHSE Manager

W Talent Engineering and Manufacturing is collaborating with a market-leading assembly-focused manufacturing business to recruit a Group QHSE Manager. This senior opportunity is designed for an experienced QHSE professional to take ownership of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across a multi-site manufacturing operation located in Nottinghamshire and Wiltshire. The role can be based at either site.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Group Operations Director, you will lead the development and continuous improvement of the company's QHSE management systems across two manufacturing sites. You will collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and the Senior Leadership Team, providing both strategic direction and hands-on support to ensure QHSE remains an integral part of day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Group QHSE strategy across two manufacturing sites.
• Develop and maintain the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001.
• Conduct internal and external audits, managing corrective actions effectively.
• Drive improvements in customer complaints, non-conformances, defects, waste, and rework.
• Lead Health & Safety initiatives, including risk assessments, investigations, and behavioral safety programs.
• Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Develop environmental improvement plans focusing on waste reduction, recycling, energy efficiency, and carbon reduction.
• Support ISO 14001 and broader environmental compliance.
• Establish and monitor QHSE KPIs, providing regular reports to the Senior Leadership Team.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
• Coach and support managers and supervisors to increase their ownership of QHSE.
• Support supplier quality and development activities.
• Collaborate across the business to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

About You

We are seeking an experienced QHSE or Quality Manager with a background in manufacturing who can demonstrate the credibility to work at both strategic and operational levels. The ideal candidate will possess:

• Proven experience in a Quality Management position within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• At least 5 years of experience in a QHSE, HSE, or Quality management role in manufacturing.
• A strong background in Customer and Supplier Quality development activities.
• An excellent working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, as well as systems management.
• Experience in conducting supplier and internal audits.
• A robust understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
• NEBOSH General Certificate (required), with Lead Auditor qualification preferred.
• Experience utilizing quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, CAPA, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Strong systems knowledge, including ERP/MRP and quality management software.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience within complex manufacturing sectors like aerospace, automotive, or highly regulated environments is advantageous.

What's on Offer

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
