New Purchasing Organization
As part of our growth strategy, we are establishing a new purchasing organization to strengthen Bavarian Nordic's strategy and growth through first-class procurement of materials, equipment, and services. To enhance our procurement capabilities, we are seeking a Purchaser for Direct Materials to join our team in Thörishaus, in the Bern region of Switzerland.
Your Role
- Own the end-to-end operational procurement process for assigned direct material categories (e.g., raw materials, single-use items, packaging materials); manage the full requisition to purchase order workflow in SAP/Dynamics.
- Ensure timely and reliable supply by maintaining accurate procurement data and proactively identifying and mitigating risks related to supply disruptions, quality issues, and supplier performance.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure procurement activities align with operational requirements and broader business objectives.
- Drive the enhancement of automation and system capabilities by contributing to the evolution of digital tools and improvements in the current system landscape.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable regulatory standards (GMP, FDA, EMA) as well as internal SOPs and quality requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost optimization, process efficiency, and overall procurement performance.
About You
- University degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in direct materials procurement within an industrial or manufacturing environment; experience in pharmaceutical or vaccine manufacturing and familiarity with GMP, FDA, and EMA requirements is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) combined with an affinity for automation and process optimization.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Structured and detail-oriented working style with the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
- Exposure to indirect procurement and/or supply chain planning is considered an advantage.
- Fluency in German and English.
