Job Title: Product Development Engineer

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the development of next-generation turbocharging products within the Medium Speed, Low Speed & Rail Division in Baden, Switzerland. Your efforts will ensure innovative, reliable, and sustainable solutions that deliver maximum value to our customers. You will lead or collaborate in product development projects and related engineering tasks within a cross-functional and multicultural working environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop cutting-edge products that meet and surpass customer expectations while ensuring operational safety and product reliability.
  • Lead or collaborate in cross-functional product development projects.
  • Manage requirements and demands from customers and various internal functions (sales, supply, production, etc.) and translate them into successful product solutions.
  • Define and coordinate internal and external work packages in the areas of product and component testing, simulation, and material investigations while supporting contractors during execution.
  • Ensure product qualification and compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Utilize your technical domain knowledge to provide support to colleagues and other functional teams.
  • Collaborate with internal functions, other R&D teams, and external parties (e.g., customers, academia, development partners).
  • Ensure state-of-the-art product documentation for both internal and external user groups.
  • Propose and implement optimizations of working processes to support lean development and continuous quality improvement.

Your Background:

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably a Master's degree (or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in a relevant industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art development methods.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Willingness to thrive in a team-oriented, dynamic working environment.
  • Independent, self-organized, and dedicated approach to work.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to understand complex situations and think laterally to generate innovative solutions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in international and cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German is an advantage.
