About the Role: Project Manager Factory Investments
Are you an experienced and motivated project leader with a passion for manufacturing innovation? As a Project Manager for Factory Investments, you will lead multi-million CHF CAPEX projects focused on factory optimization and the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies. You will be instrumental in developing our production sites in Switzerland and beyond, driving advancements in automation and digitalization while maintaining operational excellence within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing setup. Your efforts will contribute to improving our operations and supporting a more sustainable future.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead complex factory optimization and investment projects (CAPEX 2–10M CHF) with a focus on timely, cost-effective, and high-quality execution.
- Develop and apply extensive expertise in production processes to foster innovation, automation, and digitalization, balancing productivity with operational stability.
- Manage global cross-functional teams through all project stages, including initiation, analysis, concept development, implementation, and final handover.
- Build and lead high-performance project teams, establish effective governance structures, and coordinate work packages efficiently.
- Act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders by ensuring strong customer focus, maintaining continuous dialogue, and delivering service excellence.
- Develop relationships with external partners such as suppliers, universities, and technology providers to support project success.
- Proactively identify, assess, and recommend emerging technologies and innovative processes to enhance factory operations.
- Promote knowledge sharing and the adoption of best practices across the company; continuously improve project management techniques and tools.
Your Background
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Automation, Production Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Over 3 years of proven project management experience leading complex CAPEX projects with a solid understanding of lean manufacturing and management principles.
- Hands-on experience in the machinery or metal manufacturing industry, ideally involving the implementation of advanced technologies (e.g., metal cutting technologies like milling, grinding, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a pragmatic, results-driven approach.
- Strong financial literacy to evaluate data and develop sound business cases for investments.
- Analytical thinker with outstanding conceptual skills and a proactive, solution-oriented, independent working style.
- Team player with high motivation, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Fluent in both English and German (written and spoken).
