Project Manager - ETH Health Technologies

Location: Zurich, 80%-100%, fixed-term

In this role, you will navigate a vast interdisciplinary network to manage core operations and cultivate innovative activities in the field of health technologies.

Project Background

The Department of Health Sciences and Technology (D-HEST) and the ETH Competence Centre for Rehabilitation Engineering and Science (RESC) play a vital role in ETH's strategy for human health. Together, they encompass over 100 professorships across disciplines such as medical technology, rehabilitation, neuroscience, and sports science. This collaborative environment aims to support translational research that effectively bridges the gap between laboratory breakthroughs and their clinical applications. You will be joining a management team in a dynamic setting focused on interdisciplinary research, development, and translation at the intersection of medicine, engineering, and life sciences.

Job Description

As a Project Manager, you will assist the management team in planning and executing core business functions, including:

  • Network Management
  • Fundraising
  • Interdisciplinary Research Programmes
  • Development Projects

You will coordinate internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment with both the academic mission and operational standards. Your innovative mindset and pragmatic approach are essential for developing and implementing cutting-edge formats in health tech entrepreneurship, such as summer schools and incubator programs.

Profile

  • Completed university degree
  • Master’s or doctorate degree in engineering, natural sciences, or medical fields
  • Several years of professional experience in industry, hospital/disability services, or public authorities related to health technology
  • Demonstrated success in leading interdisciplinary projects
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience in entrepreneurship is desirable
  • Proactive personality that inspires others with ideas and vision
  • Decisive, confident, self-critical, and inclusive
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in German and English (knowledge of French/Italian is a plus)
