About the Position – Project Manager, S2Cities Programme
Our global youth-centred programme, Safe and Sound Cities (S2Cities), aims to create safer urban environments for young people by fostering their participation in urban decision-making and enabling youth-driven innovation. The programme empowers individuals aged 15–24 to ideate and implement interventions addressing local safety challenges in collaboration with public and private sectors as well as civil society (academia, NGOs, etc.).
To further support this global initiative, we are seeking a culturally sensitive individual with a demonstrated passion for youth safety and well-being, sustainable urban development, and programme management, who embodies GIB’s core values. In this role, you will assist in programme management, which includes grantee and partner management, strategic planning, advocacy, event coordination, and fundraising.
Your Main Responsibilities Will Include:
Managing relationships with global communications consultants and local implementation partners, overseeing workplans and budgets, reviewing deliverables, coordinating engagements, and providing strategic guidance.
Planning global events organized and hosted by GIB, including developing agendas and coordinating logistics.
Developing and implementing programme scaling strategies, identifying new funding sources, and preparing proposals.
Contributing to overall organizational and programme management, including supporting the Global Programme Manager and Director.
You Meet the Following Criteria:
At least 2-3 years of experience in impact-focused programmes, sustainable development, youth engagement, or similar fields.
Experience with public and/or private sector engagement, particularly with large corporations in S2Cities implementation regions; experience with NGOs or youth empowerment organizations.
Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., development studies, international affairs); training or experience in multilateral negotiation.
Fluency in English; strong command of Spanish (B1 or higher) and/or French (A2 or higher).
Excellent command of Microsoft Office, with experience in reports, requests for proposals, and budgeting tools.
Programme management experience, particularly in an intermediary role.
Experience working or living in low- and middle-income countries (Ghana, Colombia, Ecuador, Vietnam, or the Philippines is advantageous).
Experience organizing delegations at large-scale international multilateral events.
Experience in communications management, travel logistics, and event planning.
