As a Project Lead Buyer, you’ll be a key member of our dynamic Supply Chain team. Together, we ensure that our innovative products - from precisely manufactured components to complete rocket half-shells - are delivered on time, in top quality, and under optimal conditions.
In this pivotal role, you’ll take responsibility for the strategic development of our procurement operations, drive continuous improvement, and help build strong, reliable supplier partnerships. You’ll analyze global sourcing markets, anticipate material needs, and ensure supply security - always with a sharp focus on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
Your key interfaces: Project Management, Engineering, Commodity Management - and, of course, your local team. Your impact: Immediate and meaningful - on projects, products, and our company’s success.

Your Mission:
Requests for quotation for prototype, flight and serial parts/materials as well as production required jigs & tools
Sourcing of possible suppliers based on the technical, economic, and quality requirements
Support with the calculation for customer offers, providing procurement parts and materials cost overviews
Clarification of the technical feasibility with the suppliers and introduction of (alternative) solution proposals (design to cost) from suppliers in the concept phase
Negotiating prices and conditions as well as establishing framework agreements and contracts
Continuously optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) and drive savings initiatives
Representation of the purchasing interests in the product development process (BOM, specification/drawing availability, meeting cost targets, and manufacturing deadlines)
Ensure all externally sourced BOM parts, materials, and jigs are available in line with the project milestones
Highlight potential deviations from plan (cost, time, quality), defining and ensuring counter actions
Maintenance of ERP procurement article data
Ensuring the sourcing in line with the company’s and general legal sourcing rules
Issuing and follow-up orders (if applicable together with the Purchasers and Buyers)
Coordination and implementation of the needs and requirements of materials management and production planning
Participation in supplier qualification and development
Issuing and follow-up on supplier quality claims
Your Story:
Completed technical and/or commercial education and 3+ years of in-depth technical and operational sourcing experience
Experience in global sourcing and a good technical understanding
High awareness for costs and quality
Good negotiation skills and a strong drive for results
High reliability and adherence to deadlines
Experience working in a project environment and multifunctional teams
Experience with SAP ERP systems and related procurement administrative and control tasks
Experience in Space or Aeronautics would be an advantage
Fluent in English and German is a must
Lean and Six Sigma education & experience would be an asset
Sensible and empathetic communication skills
Willingness to travel
