Project Engineer – 7032 – ADA

Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients within the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is seeking a Project Engineer for a 1-year contract. This is an onsite role based in Visp, Switzerland.

The Project Engineer will develop concepts and provide guidance to stakeholders in decision-making. Responsibilities include detailed engineering, securing necessary resources, and managing project execution, ensuring deadlines, costs, and functionality are met. For medium-sized projects, the engineer will also serve as a coordinator for both internal and external engineering resources.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Technical Project Management (60%):
    • Planning and executing small and medium-sized investment projects that directly impact current production and business results.
    • Conducting process engineering calculations and optimizing plant performance.
    • Evaluating feasibility studies for new plants or modifications to existing systems, including cost estimation, scheduling, and functionality assessments.
    • Planning and supporting production adjustments and product launches.
  • Concept Development (20%):

    Developing technical solutions while assessing their advantages and disadvantages.

  • Team Coordination / Resource Management (10%):

    Procurement and organization of necessary resources, whether internal or external, for the professional and timely execution of projects.

  • Process Optimization and Knowledge Transfer (10%):
    • Identifying optimization opportunities in process workflows and implementing changes.
    • Applying and integrating professional knowledge into daily work activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU citizenship required.
  • Education: Technical college or university degree (bachelor’s or master’s) in Mechanical Engineering, Process Technology, Bioengineering, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience: 3 to 10 years of experience in a GMP environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly independent, structured, and flexible working style.
  • Outstanding leadership skills in a matrix organization.
  • Solid understanding of business and financial processes.
  • Solution-oriented with a structured approach to work.
  • Fluency in both English and German is required.
