Purpose
The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and relaying advisory and capacity support to international sports organizations provided by the Global Observatory. This role involves facilitating the delivery of strategic advice to support planning and policy-making processes, as well as coordination meetings and task groups.
Role Context
The Global Observatory offers a range of gender advisory services to the international sports ecosystem to assist in the implementation of gender strategies, including:
- Mapping existing gender-related policies, initiatives, data, and resources within the international sports ecosystem.
- Identifying key issues, gaps, and priorities, referencing relevant research and studies related to international sports and gender equality.
- Supporting the definition and prioritization of strategic milestones and actions related to gender equality.
- Facilitating engagement, coordination, and capacity-building activities across governance, technical, and athlete-related areas.
- Providing practical resources, tools, and guidance, including learning and training solutions where appropriate.
- Utilizing data and evidence to inform program design, decision-making, and resource allocation.
- Reviewing sponsorship and investment aspects related to gender equality, when relevant.
- Managing the monthly newsletter and associated communication channels, including content planning, development, and publishing.
- Overseeing the Global Observatory website, ensuring its design, content, updates, and optimization are current.
- Developing good practice stories on gender equality in and through sport through outreach, sourcing, documentation, and storytelling.
This suite of actions is executed through a mix of in-house staff, consultants, and a global network of experts.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Maintaining positive and productive relationships with relevant project collaborators in the international sports ecosystem.
- Developing and managing the agreed work plan between the Global Observatory and the International Federation.
- Monitoring and managing progress towards milestones and deliverables.
- Documenting partner decisions and action points related to the project.
- Coordinating inputs from Global Observatory experts, network, and service providers on related deliverables.
- Regular communication with the appointed liaison in the international sports organization.
- Developing communication strategies to support the uptake of project advice and support.
- Maintaining a database of resources to assist the International Federation.
- Documenting good practices and learnings for sharing with other international sports organizations.
- Reporting on project progress and outcomes.
- Coordinating resource and tool development by the Global Observatory to meet the needs of international sports organizations.
- Supporting Global Observatory communication to key audiences.

- Experience working in the Global North and Global South.
- Fluency in English.
