Purpose
The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and relaying advisory and capacity support to international sport organizations through the Global Observatory. They will facilitate the provision of strategic advice in planning and policy-making processes, participation in coordination meetings, and contributing to task groups, leveraging existing focal points.
Role Context
The Global Observatory offers gender advisory services to the international sport ecosystem to enhance the delivery of gender strategies. These services include:
- Mapping existing gender-related policies, initiatives, data, and resources within the international sport ecosystem.
- Identifying key issues, gaps, and priorities related to gender equality, informed by relevant research and studies.
- Supporting the definition and prioritization of strategic milestones and actions aimed at gender equality.
- Engaging in coordination and capacity-building activities across governance, technical, and athlete-related areas.
- Providing practical resources, tools, and guidance, including learning and training solutions.
- Using data and evidence to inform program design, decision-making, and resource allocation.
- Reviewing sponsorship and investment aspects related to gender equality.
- Managing the monthly newsletter and associated communication channels, including content planning, development, and publishing.
- Overseeing the Global Observatory website's content, updates, and optimization.
- Documenting good practice stories through outreach, sourcing, and development focused on gender equality in and through sport.
These actions are conducted through a combination of in-house staff, consultants, and a global network of experts.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Maintaining positive and productive relationships with project collaborators in the international sport ecosystem.
- Developing and managing the work plan agreed upon between the Global Observatory and the International Federation.
- Monitoring and managing progress towards milestones and deliverables.
- Documenting partner decisions and action points related to the project.
- Coordinating input from Global Observatory experts, network, and service providers on related deliverables.
- Communicating regularly with the appointed liaison in the International Sport Organization.
- Creating communications that support the uptake of project advice and support.
- Maintaining a resource database to support the International Federation.
- Documenting good practices and learnings to share with other international sport organizations.
- Reporting on project progress and outcomes.
- Coordinating the development of resources and tools to meet the needs of international sport organizations.
- Supporting Global Observatory communications to key audiences.

- Experience working in both the Global North and Global South.
- Fluency in English.
