At the Quantum Device Lab at ETH Zurich and the ETH Zurich – PSI Quantum Computing Hub, we develop large-scale quantum computers and foster collaboration between academic and industrial partners in the emerging ecosystem of quantum technologies.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Project Administrator to support the coordination of a major third-party-funded research project, provided by a U.S. agency and coordinated by our group, along with other ongoing research projects within the team. The role also encompasses general administrative responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the project manager in overseeing project finances, monitoring expenditures, and preparing financial reports.
  • Act as a liaison between our group, various units within ETH Zurich, external partners, and funding agencies.
  • Organize meetings and workshops, coordinate logistics, and contribute to broader administrative tasks across various projects within the group.

Job Details

This is a temporary position, initially limited to 12 months, with the possibility of extension. The position is offered at 40% to 80%, depending on your interests and educational background.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master’s degree (from a university or university of applied sciences), or a commercial or administrative qualification.
  • Demonstrated interest and proven competence in financial topics, such as budgeting, cost tracking, or financial reporting.
  • Practical experience in project administration, ideally in an academic or research context.
  • A structured and precise working style, combined with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Enjoyment in organizing events (e.g., meetings, workshops) and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent command of English and good German skills, both written and spoken.
