About Biovision

Biovision is dedicated to creating sustainable food systems—from farm to fork. We advocate for agroecological approaches, socially equitable value chains, food security, and agricultural production that harmonizes with nature. Through targeted research and projects in sub-Saharan Africa and Switzerland, we develop innovative solutions for the future, either led by us or in collaboration with partner organizations.

Founded in 1998 by Swiss entomologist and Right Livelihood Award laureate Hans Rudolf Herren, Biovision's projects and initiatives aim to enhance the lives of farming families and protect the environment. Our focus is on agroecology, a holistic approach that encompasses sustainable farming methods, socially responsible business practices, and inclusive dialogue in the policymaking space. By addressing critical global challenges such as hunger, climate change, and biodiversity loss, we strive for a resilient food system.
