Position Overview
We are seeking a committed professional to join our Mediation Program to further our peacebuilding efforts in Afghanistan and contribute to mediation and dialogue processes in various contexts.
Your Responsibilities
Contribute to the mediation team’s initiatives related to Afghanistan, including outreach, support for consultative processes, and research initiatives.
Lead project management for the Afghanistan projects, encompassing administrative and financial management, reporting, monitoring, evaluation and learning, and fostering relationships with partners.
Provide expertise in mediation and dialogue processes across different contexts.
Contribute to practice-based research projects, training, and capacity-building initiatives at the University of Basel and internationally.
Your Profile
A strong desire to shape and enhance swisspeace’s work in Afghanistan.
4 to 8 years of relevant experience in project management, mediation support, dialogue, and/or peacebuilding, with a focus on project management.
Field experience in, and/or substantial knowledge of, conflict and peacebuilding contexts; experience in or on Afghanistan is a significant advantage.
Excellent spoken and written English; proficiency in Dari and/or Pashto is a strong asset.
Outstanding analytical and drafting skills.
Experience in delivering training and coaching activities.
A collaborative team player who can deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines and adapt to politically sensitive contexts.
Willingness to travel frequently, including to conflict-affected areas.
