Job Opportunity: Professor in Swiss Constitutional and Administrative Law (Open Rank)

As of 1 August 2027, the KPM Center for Public Management and the Institute for Public Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Bern are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Professor in Swiss Constitutional and Administrative Law. This is an open rank position.

Requirements

• A completed habilitation or a well-advanced habilitation project, or an equivalent academic qualification.
• A license to practice law or a comparable track record with practical experience.
• Outstanding academic achievements in constitutional and administrative law, with specializations in areas such as administrative organizational law, digitization, or public finance and economic law.
• Teaching experience and a willingness to serve on the management board of the interdisciplinary KPM Center for Public Management.
• Participation in the acquisition of third-party funding.
• Proficiency in German, necessary for teaching, research, and academic self-administration.

We offer a position that could range from a full professorship, associate professorship, to an assistant professorship with tenure track, depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
