Based in Zurich, Switzerland, our team has strong expertise in the development and production of ultrafast lasers for the aerospace, telecom, and metrology markets. We are currently seeking a Production Technician to support our ambitious business scale-up.
Job Description
Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:
- Working in the laser production department, focusing on preparation, assembly, testing, and final packing of electro-optical products and subassemblies.
- Participating in the maintenance of our company's high-tech infrastructure while collaborating closely with departments such as Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Laser Engineering, and Logistics to continuously improve and automate production processes.
- Contributing to the success of our ultrafast lasers by building laser systems alongside our Production team.
- Collaborating with a cross-functional team of engineers and manufacturing professionals to meet production goals.
- Providing feedback to the engineering team and assisting in troubleshooting concerning manufacturing processes and sub-assembly components, elevating our product quality.
- Assisting in the development of documentation and work instructions to enhance productivity.
Experience and Education
Your background includes:
- A technical apprenticeship (e.g., lab assistant or lab technician) or several years of manufacturing experience.
- Experience in an industrial environment requiring high accuracy and precision.
- Ideally, knowledge in the field of optics and optics assembly, including experience working under cleanroom conditions.
- A self-motivated, ambitious, and flexible mindset, with a preference for dynamic team environments in a fast-growing business.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive with minimal supervision.
- A willingness to adapt to new environments and learn quickly, presenting the challenge as an opportunity for skill advancement.
- An excellent team player with exceptional communication skills and documentation capabilities.
- Fluency in German and proficiency in English.
Additional Requirements
You should bring:
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Word, etc.).
Conditions
- A valid Swiss work permit is required.
- The position is 80% to 100% (34-42 hours/week).
- Onsite work at our headquarters near Zurich in Dübendorf, Switzerland.
- The preferred starting date is June 1, 2025.
