Menhir Photonics is a dynamic Swiss laser manufacturer offering laser solutions of unprecedented robustness and reliability to customers around the globe. Based in Zurich, Switzerland, our team boasts extensive expertise in the development and production of ultrafast lasers for the aerospace, telecom, and metrology markets. We are currently seeking a Production Technician to support our ambitious business scale-up.

Job Description

Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Working in the laser production department, focusing on the preparation, assembly, testing, and final packing of electro-optical products and subassemblies.
  • Participating in the maintenance of our company's high-tech infrastructure, closely collaborating with other departments such as Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Laser Engineering, and Logistics to continuously improve and automate production processes.
  • Contributing to the success of our ultrafast lasers by collaborating with the Production team to build laser systems.
  • Working with a cross-functional team of engineers and manufacturing professionals to achieve production goals.
  • Providing feedback to the engineering team and assisting in troubleshooting manufacturing processes and sub-assembly components, enhancing our product quality.
  • Contributing to the development of documentation and work instructions to boost our productivity.

Experience and Education

Your background should include:

  • A technical apprenticeship (e.g., lab assistant or lab technician) or several years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in an industrial environment demanding high accuracy and precision.
  • Ideally, knowledge in optics and optics assembly, including experience in cleanroom conditions.
  • A self-motivated, ambitious, and flexible nature, thriving in a dynamic team within a fast-growing business environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • A willingness to adapt to new environments and quickly learn new skills as a welcome challenge for personal growth.
  • Excellent team player with exceptional communication and documentation skills.
  • Fluency in German and proficiency in English are required.

Additional Requirements

You should bring:

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Word, etc.).

Conditions

The role offers:

  • A valid Swiss work permit is required.
  • The position is available at 80% to 100% (34-42 hours/week).
  • Onsite work at our headquarters located near Zurich in Dübendorf, Switzerland.
  • The preferred starting date is June 1, 2025.
