Production Planner | Immediate Start | Heanor, Derbyshire | £30,000 - £37,000

W Talent is collaborating with a global manufacturing organization based in Heanor, Derbyshire, to recruit a Production Planner for an 18-month secondment. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business and become part of a motivated Planning, Inventory, and Logistics team dedicated to operational excellence.

The Role - Production Planner

As a Production Planner, you will work at the Heanor manufacturing site, where your primary responsibility will be managing daily production scheduling and activities across assembly lines and designated manufacturing processes. Collaborating closely with Planning, Inventory, Logistics, and broader operational teams, you will ensure that production is effectively planned to meet customer demand and delivery requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing daily production schedules and activities across assembly lines and assigned manufacturing processes.
  • Ensuring production plans support timely customer delivery and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Maintaining and managing accurate production and planning data within SAP and associated systems.
  • Supporting SAP management and operations to ensure accurate data and efficient workflows.
  • Managing work center capacity to optimize production efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Communicating scheduling and production information clearly across relevant teams.
  • Supporting new product introduction and release-to-production activities.
  • Identifying, resolving, and escalating production and scheduling issues as necessary.
  • Contributing to projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working collaboratively with operational teams to resolve priority conflicts and maintain production performance.

Key Requirements

We are seeking candidates located in or around Derby or Nottingham with prior experience in production planning, manufacturing control, production scheduling, inventory management, or a similar manufacturing environment. A strong understanding of production processes, along with confidence in working with data, systems, and multiple priorities, is essential.

Candidates should possess:

  • Good working knowledge of SAP MM; experience with SAP PP and WM is highly desirable.
  • Previous involvement in new product introduction and release-to-production processes is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities, excellent numerical skills, and keen attention to detail.
  • A proactive, process-driven approach, with the capability to identify and resolve issues, manage competing priorities, and influence stakeholders.
  • A positive "can-do" attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a larger team.

What's on Offer?

The successful candidate will receive a salary ranging from £30,000 to £37,000, along with 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays and bonus opportunities.
