Position Overview

We are looking for a highly capable and experienced Production Manager with a strong background in aerospace or precision engineering environments. This critical leadership role is responsible for driving production performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the shop floor. The successful candidate will lead daily manufacturing operations, ensuring that output, quality, and delivery targets are consistently met while upholding the highest aerospace standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Production Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing all production activities, reporting directly to the Site Director. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring full compliance with aerospace standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100), along with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Leading and managing production teams to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly output targets.
  • Driving a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing operations.
  • Developing and executing production plans that align with customer demand and business objectives.
  • Coordinating closely with planning, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Monitoring KPIs and production metrics, taking corrective action where necessary to improve performance.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize throughput.
  • Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and ensuring smooth integration into production.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing team members, identifying skills gaps, and implementing training plans.
  • Ensuring robust quality control processes are adhered to, collaborating closely with quality teams to resolve non-conformances.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Production Manager or in a similar leadership role within aerospace or precision manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace standards such as AS9100 and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Robust leadership and people management skills, with the ability to drive performance and engagement.
  • A data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience managing high-mix, low-volume, or complex manufacturing environments is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification is desirable.
