They are seeking to recruit a Production Manager as the company embarks on an exciting period of growth and investment. Plans include the installation of additional, high-specification injection moulding machinery, presenting a remarkable opportunity for the right candidate.

The Role - Production Manager

As the Production Manager, you will assume overall responsibility for the daily management and performance of production across the site. Collaborating closely with the senior management team, your leadership will ensure that operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and consistently in line with customer requirements. You will also drive continuous improvement efforts and support the company's ongoing investment and growth initiatives. This role is tailored for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and possess a solid understanding of plastics and injection moulding production.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily production operations across the site.
• Lead, manage, and develop the production team, fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing culture.
• Ensure production plans and customer requirements are met safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Drive enhancements in OEE, productivity, efficiency, waste reduction, and overall equipment performance.
• Manage and optimize injection moulding processes, machinery, and production resources.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Maintenance to maximize machine availability and minimize downtime.
• Monitor production performance through relevant KPIs and take corrective action as necessary.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across production.
• Support the introduction, installation, and commissioning of new injection moulding machinery and equipment.
• Ensure production processes meet quality standards and customer expectations.
• Work in tandem with Quality, Engineering, Planning, Stores, and other departments to ensure smooth production flow.
• Contribute to the long-term manufacturing strategy and capacity planning as the business evolves.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Production Manager or Manufacturing Manager within a plastics manufacturing environment. A strong understanding of modern injection moulding machinery, processes, and production settings is essential, along with a capacity to enhance production teams in a dynamic manufacturing operation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrable track record of improving production performance, efficiency, and OEE.
• Experience working in close partnership with Engineering and Maintenance teams.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and people-management skills.
• A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to navigate both shop floor and management levels.
