Position Overview
We are looking for a highly capable and experienced Production Manager with a robust background in fast-paced manufacturing environments. This critical leadership role will be responsible for driving production performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the shop floor. The successful candidate will lead daily manufacturing operations, ensuring that output, quality, and delivery targets consistently align with the highest aerospace standards.
Key Responsibilities
The Production Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing all production activities and will report directly to the Head of Operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure full compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO9100), and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Lead and manage production teams to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly output targets.
- Drive a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing operations.
- Develop and execute production plans in line with customer demand and business objectives.
- Coordinate closely with planning, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Monitor KPIs and production metrics, taking corrective action where necessary to enhance performance.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize throughput.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members, identifying skills gaps and implementing training plans.
- Ensure robust quality control processes are adhered to, collaborating closely with quality teams to resolve non-conformances.
About You
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a Production Manager or similar leadership role within fast-paced manufacturing.
- Demonstrable experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to drive performance and engagement.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience managing a team to drive productivity increases across all manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the business.
- NEBOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification is desirable.
