Production Director Opportunity

W Talent is partnering with a highly successful and innovative manufacturing business based in North Yorkshire to fill a crucial Production Director role. This senior leadership position is pivotal in supporting the company's ongoing growth and development.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead and oversee the entire production lifecycle, from project inception to final delivery. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and developing the Production Management team and the wider production function.
• Setting and executing the production strategy, driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Overseeing the planning, build, and timely delivery of multiple projects.
• Ensuring production capacity, resources, and facilities are aligned with the commercial pipeline.
• Collaborating closely with Sales and other senior leaders to ensure realistic project planning and effective management of production capacity.
• Managing internal and external production resources, including subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensuring projects are delivered to the required quality, health & safety, and environmental standards.
• Providing senior leadership and support throughout the project delivery process, including onsite when necessary.
• Developing people, succession planning, and building a high-performing production team.
• Identifying opportunities to enhance processes, productivity, and overall business operations.
• Providing regular reports and insights to the Board on production performance and project delivery.

About You

We seek an experienced Production Director, Head of Production, Operations Director, or senior Production Manager with a background in a complex, project-led manufacturing environment. You should possess strong leadership skills and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience in:

• Leading production teams within a project-led or bespoke manufacturing environment.
• Managing multiple projects and navigating competing production priorities.
• Improving production efficiency, capacity, and processes.
• Collaborating closely with Sales and other functions to align operational capabilities with business growth.
• Managing internal teams alongside external suppliers and subcontractors.
• Fostering a positive culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Most importantly, you will be a credible and engaging leader who can bring structure, pace, and accountability to a growing production operation.

• Competitive salary ranging from £90,000 to £110,000, depending on experience.
