Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Product Director to lead the product vision and strategy for our real estate classifieds marketplace in Switzerland. In this role, you will drive user engagement, monetization, and long-term value creation by aligning product strategy closely with customer needs and business goals.

Main Tasks

  • Product Leadership & Organizational Design:
    • Lead and develop the Product Leadership team (Heads of Product) and ensure the optimum team structure (currently comprising about 30 employees) to foster focus, autonomy, and collaboration across Product and Design.
    • Manage the Product Budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation aligned with strategic priorities.
    • Inspire, align, and motivate the entire product organization around a shared vision and measurable outcomes.
    • Build and nurture high-performing, empowered, and customer-focused teams capable of independently solving meaningful problems.
  • Product Strategy & Execution:
    • Own and drive the end-to-end real estate product strategy, ensuring its alignment with customer needs, business objectives, market dynamics, and technology trends.
    • Collaborate closely with peers in engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure seamless product delivery and cross-functional alignment.
    • Ensure teams are outcome-driven, working autonomously within clear strategic boundaries, and delivering measurable impact.
    • Foster a strong product operating model focused on iterative, evidence-based delivery and continuous improvement.
    • Own KPIs and performance metrics to track product success, ensuring incremental delivery based on data-driven decisions.
    • Represent the product function in regular executive leadership board meetings and contribute to company-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Culture & Continuous Improvement:
    • Establish and embed a strong product culture centered on discovery, experimentation, and fast learning loops.
    • Promote continuous learning and improvement across teams through retrospectives, shared learnings, and measurable feedback loops.
    • Create an environment where evidence drives decisions and teams feel trusted and safe to take smart risks.
  • Cross-Company Collaboration:
    • Identify and build strategic synergies with other business units and marketplaces within SMG, sharing learnings and leveraging capabilities to accelerate innovation and efficiency.
    • Act as a connector and ambassador for product excellence across the broader SMG organization.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in a strategic Product leadership role.
  • A proven track record in product planning, defining, and launching successful products.
  • Experience in Marketplace, eCommerce, or Classified Business with a commercially-minded focus for both professional customers and consumers.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and guiding teams through transformations in product-led organizations.
  • Proven ability to represent the product function in executive leadership meetings and contribute to company-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Fluent in Business English with strong experience in a multicultural environment.
  • Hold a higher degree in Product Leadership, Business Administration, IT, Finance, Economics, or possess equivalent work experience.
