Your Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of Experts and Engineers.
  • Manage development projects focused on our innovative technologies, overseeing the entire product development process from idea conception to industrialization.
  • Prototype and materialize proof of concepts, including the design, realization, and implementation of mechanical, electronic, and software components.
  • Design and construct test setups to evaluate, study, test, and optimize smart materials and their applications.
  • Utilize modelling, simulation techniques, and data analysis to describe material behaviour, refine performance models, and enhance material applications.
  • Create and manage a network of internal and external partners, including development partners (academic or industrial), suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Engage with customers and support commercial and business development activities in the area of new products and technologies.
  • Support technology scouting and innovation management activities.

Our Requirements

Our ideal candidate possesses a well-rounded profile with a blend of technical (electronics, mechanics, and software) and entrepreneurial competencies, particularly in research and development and bringing ideas to life as products.

  • MSc or PhD in electronics, mechatronics, or a similar field.
  • Experience in programming (Python, C/C++), 3D printing, PCB design, and hands-on creation of mechatronic devices and systems.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools and CAD software is advantageous.
  • A creative mindset with a passion for innovation and technology.
  • Highly driven, technically curious, results-oriented, and proactive.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain internal and external networks.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral, level C2); proficiency in German is an advantage.
