Position Overview

This position reports to the Procurement Manager.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of purchasing and logistics-related activities within the Procurement function to support our business operations. Each day, you will execute assigned activities in accordance with ABB's standard procedures. You will also leverage your expertise through training programs to ensure compliance and foster professional development.

The work model for this role is: onsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independent implementation of purchasing projects, including requirement determination, supplier selection, negotiation, order processing, and scheduling up to series delivery.
  • Management of purchasing projects from kickoff to handover to operational purchasing.
  • Identification and analysis of procurement requirements for projects in collaboration with various specialist departments.
  • Execution of purchasing and logistics strategies to support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.
  • Design and implement effective local sourcing strategies to achieve business targets.
  • Implement procurement standards, tools, and processes within your area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Completed technical or commercial training, with further qualifications in purchasing (e.g., qualified purchasing manager).
  • Several years of experience in project purchasing of technical components in an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of strategic purchasing is advantageous.
  • Proficient in SAP (MM module) and MS Office.
  • Excellent written and spoken skills in German and English.
  • Assertive and confident demeanor.
  • Analytical, networked thinking, with experience in process and project management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a foundational understanding of financial contexts.
  • Outgoing and trustworthy personality with robust interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative and the capability to develop and implement ideas.
