Novamem AG, located in Schlieren ZH, is an innovative spin-off from ETH Zurich and a leading manufacturer of membranes and filters crafted from high-performance polymers. With our revolutionary slash technology, we are establishing new benchmarks in water treatment and developing separators for renewable energy applications. We are looking to expand our team, effective 01.04.2026 or by arrangement.
Position: Process or Lab Technician (80-100%)
What You Can Expect:
- You will play a pivotal role in our development and pilot production team – every day will offer new challenges.
- Your primary responsibility will be preparing polymer solutions according to defined formulations at both laboratory and pilot scales.
- You will conduct membrane coating and processing experiments, utilizing our coating and pilot equipment.
- You will prepare polymer solutions, varying from small laboratory batches to larger pilot-scale batches (up to approximately 100 kg).
- You will perform tests for membrane performance and water filtration characterization.
- You will document and analyze results, assisting the team in optimizing formulations and coating processes.
- You will help maintain our laboratory and pilot infrastructure, ensuring that equipment and analytical tools are functional and well-organized.
- Your observations and results will be regularly shared with the R&D and process development teams.
What You Bring:
- A completed apprenticeship in the chemical sector, such as chemical laboratory technician EFZ, chemical technologist EFZ, or a similar practical background in chemical production.
- Experience with chemical formulations, polymer solutions, or process equipment is a plus.
- A passion for hands-on work and practical problem-solving.
- A strong commitment to safety, quality, and reproducible processes.
- Fluency in German (written and spoken) and the ability to communicate in English.
