In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering successful energy consulting projects, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring our clients receive exceptional support. Your contributions will significantly impact technical work within petroleum and geothermal energy projects, as well as critical raw material prospection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct structural seismic interpretation and mapping with a focus on geological and engineering objectives.
  • Integrate information from various imaging approaches.
  • Apply seismostratigraphic principles and seismic texture recognition to support lithological and stratigraphic predictions.
  • Supervise Quantitative Interpretation, including poststack and prestack inversion for rock properties and seismic well ties.
  • Incorporate principles of AVO/AVA/AVAZ/VVAZ into geological models.
  • Perform QC/QA on seismic processing concerning geological and technical targets and concepts.
  • Manage data, including the loading of seismic data, well information, and logs.
  • Compile regular progress reports and project status updates.
  • Prepare high-quality maps and reports.
  • Support planning for exploration targets and drilling activities.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the energy sector.
  • A passionate and proactive approach to geology and geophysics, with strong teamwork skills.
  • Extensive practical knowledge of relevant software, including:
    • Kingdom Suite (S&P)
    • AspenTech (formerly Paradigm, formerly Emerson)
  • Strong understanding of geological concepts, lithology, and rock properties concerning structural deformation and reservoir/seal pairs.
  • In-depth knowledge of seismostratigraphic principles and seismic texture recognition for facies and lithology prediction.
  • Familiarity with Quantitative Interpretation technologies and rock physics, along with rock property inversion.
  • Knowledge of seismic imaging principles, including azimuthal and offset substacks for targeted interpretation.
  • Expertise in carbonate geology and substantial experience in seismic interpretation of carbonates.
  • Familiarity with the integration of AVO/AVA/AVAZ/VVAZ workflows and seismic well ties workflows.
  • Proficient in time-depth and depth-to-depth conversions of seismic and interpretative data.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in French and/or German is a plus.
