The company is at the forefront of cancer care, offering a leading portfolio of products that facilitate earlier detection and treatment guidance. Exact Sciences empowers individuals to make informed decisions across the cancer continuum, driven by a commitment to innovation that combines scientific rigor with an open-minded approach.

To expand its offerings, Exact Sciences is actively developing its pipeline with a focus on tackling a broader array of cancer tests through:

  • Expanding the Oncotype IQ platform to include liquid and tissue-based tests, thereby enhancing cancer care.
  • Implementing biomarker-based technologies to develop a liquid biopsy capable of detecting cancers and precancers from blood samples.
  • Utilizing a proven multi-marker approach to achieve the analytical sensitivity necessary to differentiate between normal and cancerous samples.
  • Collaborating with leading clinicians and scientists at Mayo Clinic to identify biomarkers associated with the 15 deadliest cancers.
  • Building a cancer detection platform informed by insights gained from the development of Cologuard® (currently available in the US only).

In July 2019, Exact Sciences acquired Genomic Health, a California-based company specializing in genetic cancer detection, for USD 2.8 billion, solidifying its position as a leading global cancer diagnostics company.

Further expansions followed in 2020 with the acquisition of Thrive Earlier Detection Corp. and Base Genomics, and in February 2021, Exact Sciences announced the acquisition of Ashion Analytics, LLC, enhancing its genomics testing capabilities tailored for precision cancer treatments.
