Principal Electrical Engineer - Permanent - Greater Boston

Proclinical is collaborating with an innovative technology company to recruit a skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join its engineering team. This is a senior, hands-on position that seamlessly blends technical leadership with the opportunity to mentor and guide a small team of engineers.
Primary Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be instrumental in the development of advanced electronic and embedded systems, participating in the full product development lifecycle from concept through delivery.
Skills & Requirements
- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience
- Strong background in embedded systems and electronics design
- PCB design experience, preferably using Altium
- Robust understanding of digital and analog circuit design
- Experience with microcontrollers and embedded hardware platforms
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and Ethernet
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Experience working within structured engineering and documentation processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable engaging directly with clients and external partners
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded electronic systems
- Create hardware schematics and support PCB design activities
- Define system and hardware architectures for new products
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Lead technical projects from concept to delivery
- Conduct design reviews, testing, and validation activities
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners
- Support customer-facing technical discussions when required
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Contribute to engineering best practices and process improvement
Compensation
$150,000 to $170,000 per annum.
