Job Title: Principal Engineer
AES seeks a Principal Engineer who will play a pivotal role as an individual contributor, dedicated to developing cutting-edge technologies and products. This position oversees the research, development, and design of engineering projects, ensuring our organization remains at the forefront of innovation.
The Principal Engineer is responsible for a variety of tasks, including budget creation, vendor negotiations, and delegation of work. In addition, this role may involve training staff members, setting project deadlines, and enhancing engineering application processes. You will be engaged in all phases of product development, encompassing definition, design, troubleshooting, characterization, verification, and manufacturing of software processes.
This position will be integral to delivering the highest quality technology to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and provide technical standards and guidance for all software design and development activities.
- Support and facilitate maintenance and upgrades of existing software applications.
- Conduct design reviews and offer technical recommendations.
- Assist in the entire software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Ensure all projects maintain high quality standards.
- Mentor and train junior software engineers.
- Help analyze and troubleshoot application issues.
- Create effective technical solutions that meet business needs and requirements.
- Recommend new technologies to enhance productivity.
- Collaborate with teams to plan, prioritize, and complete project assignments.
- Participate in risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Regularly attend meetings to discuss projects, issues, and innovative ideas.
- Engage in technical audits and ensure the application of resulting recommendations.
- Deliver business presentations to management.
- Coordinate with QA to develop test cases, procedures, and plans.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 15+ years of software experience, including 8+ years of DeltaV expertise.
- In-depth knowledge of various software development technologies and tools.
- Strong commitment to staying updated on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.
- Experience with Good Automation Manufacturing Practice (GAMP).
- Proficiency in control systems, specifically DeltaV.
- Exceptional analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, along with strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding focus on customer service.
- Superb organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven leadership and mentorship capabilities.
