- Define and align regional objectives and strategies with budgets and agreed regional growth plans.
- Develop and implement global product portfolio and principal business strategies, including portfolio expansion in each region, area, and country.
- Create the global business plan, five-year budget, and 12-month rolling forecast in coordination with the regions.
- Lead and guide the sales activities of distribution products in close collaboration with regional management.
- Actively perform payment term optimization with principals.
- Provide insight and guidance during regional negotiations of purchase prices and terms.
- Monitor business performance metrics such as volumes sold, margins achieved, cash flow requirements, return on capital expenditure (ROCE), and compound annual growth rate (CAGR) across regions, areas, and countries.
- Assess new principals within the region while maintaining and developing principal portfolios that align with market opportunities through sales synergies and long-term strategies.
- Manage projects that address new segment trends, enhance global customer value development, improve global and regional pipelines, optimize pricing, and enhance inventory management while fostering cross-fertilization and knowledge transfer.
- Organize and lead regular product training sessions for both new and existing principals as necessary.
- Develop and drive the commercial sustainability strategy and portfolio development, ensuring regulatory compliance and necessary certifications are in place.
- Conduct regular SWOT analysis and BCG-Matrix portfolio management.
- Define and guide inventory policies to improve working capital in collaboration with regional management and supply chain teams. Communicate action plans to reduce slow-moving or redundant stock.
- Develop and nurture relationships with key partners and principals.
- Conduct regular open performance reviews with principals and regional teams.
- Create and execute long-term joint marketing strategies for segments and product lines in existing and new regions alongside key principals.
- Lead and support pricing and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate in developing joint exhibition programs and in-house customer seminar strategies with principals.
- Ensure principal satisfaction and alignment with long-term strategies through regular, open, and effective communication.
- Foster talent development and promotion within the division and across regions.
- Ensure that the OPPD organization attracts top talent.
- Collaborate with regional management and HR to create programs for the learning and development of management, sales, and technical sales teams.
- Support the development of an optimal organizational structure and staffing within the assigned region, focusing on recruitment, training and development, promotion, succession planning, and compensation to support Omya’s business growth objectives.
