Strategy Development and Implementation

As part of our commitment to excellence, you will be responsible for defining and aligning regional objectives and strategies in accordance with budgets and approved growth plans. Your role involves:

  • Developing and implementing global product portfolio and principal business strategies, focusing on portfolio expansion across regions, areas, and countries.
  • Creating the global business plan, including a five-year budget and a 12-month rolling forecast, in collaboration with the regional teams.

Divisional Management

In this role, you will lead and manage sales activities for distribution products in close cooperation with regional management. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Optimizing payment terms with principals.
  • Providing strategic input and guidance during regional negotiations regarding purchase prices and terms.
  • Monitoring business performance metrics such as volumes sold, margins achieved, cash requirements, return on capital expenditure (ROCE), and CAGR by region, area, and country.
  • Assessing new principals within the region while maintaining and developing principal portfolios aligned with market opportunities.
  • Managing projects that target new segment trends, customer value development, pipeline improvement, price optimization, inventory optimization, and cross-fertilization of knowledge.
  • Organizing and leading regular product training sessions for new and existing principals.
  • Developing and executing the commercial sustainability strategy and portfolio management while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Conducting regular SWOT analyses and BCG-Matrix portfolio management.
  • Establishing inventory guidelines to enhance working capital, collaborating with regional management and supply chain teams to minimize slow-moving stock.

Communication

Your ability to foster strong relationships will be crucial as you:

  • Develop strong partnerships with key stakeholders and principals.
  • Facilitate regular, transparent performance reviews with principals and regional teams.
  • Create and execute long-term marketing plans for product lines in existing and new markets alongside key partners.
  • Lead and support negotiations on pricing and contracts.
  • Develop joint exhibition and seminar strategies with principals.
  • Ensure principal satisfaction and alignment with long-term strategies through effective communication.

People Management

Your leadership will be vital in nurturing talents within the division and across regions. You will:

  • Drive development and promotional opportunities for team members.
  • Attract top talent for the organization.
  • Create and implement learning and development programs in collaboration with regional management and HR.
  • Support the ideal organizational structure through recruitment, training, and succession planning efforts.

Requirements

  • A University Degree in Business and/or Polymer Science disciplines.
  • A minimum of 10 years of global experience in sales, product, and business management in Polymer Distribution, related processing technologies, and industry markets.
  • Capacity to establish relationships at the top management level with principals.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact sensitively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proactivity and openness in communication.
  • A collaborative approach within a team and matrix structure.
  • Strong creative and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the relevant industry.
  • Strong intercultural competence.
  • Fluent command of both oral and written English.
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 50%.
