Strategy Development and Implementation
The role involves defining and aligning regional objectives and strategies in accordance with budgets and agreed regional growth plans. You will develop and implement global product portfolio and principal business strategies, including portfolio expansion across various regions, areas, and countries. Additionally, you are responsible for the development of the global business plan, a 5-year budget, and a 12-month rolling forecast in coordination with the regions.
Divisional Management
- Lead and drive sales activities related to distribution products in close cooperation with regional management.
- Optimize payment terms with principals proactively.
- Provide input and guidance during regional negotiations of purchase prices and terms.
- Monitor business performance in terms of volumes sold, margins achieved, cash requirements, return on capital expenditure (ROCE), and compound annual growth rate (CAGR) by region, area, and country.
- Assess new principals within regional and area contexts while maintaining, fostering, and developing principal portfolios to align with market opportunities, leveraging sales synergies and focusing on long-term strategies.
- Manage projects that address emerging segment trends, activate global customer value development, improve regional pipelines, optimize pricing and inventory, and facilitate cross-fertilization and knowledge transfers.
- Organize and lead regular training sessions for new and existing principals as necessary.
- Develop and lead a commercial sustainability strategy and portfolio, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and certifications.
- Conduct regular SWOT analyses and BCG-Matrix portfolio management.
- Define and manage inventory guidelines to enhance working capital in collaboration with regional management and supply chain management while minimizing slow-moving and redundant stock through regular reviews.
Communication
- Build and nurture relationships with key partners and principals.
- Conduct regular open performance reviews with principals and regional teams.
- Develop and implement long-term joint marketing strategies for segments and product lines in both existing and new regions, alongside key principals.
- Lead and support price and contract negotiations.
- Design joint exhibition programs and in-house customer seminar strategies with principals.
- Provide regular, open, and effective communication to ensure principal satisfaction and alignment with long-term strategies.
People Management
- Foster the development and promotion of talent within the division and across regions.
- Ensure the organization attracts top talent.
- In collaboration with regional management and HR, create programs focused on learning and development for management, sales, and technical sales teams.
- Support the development of the ideal organizational structure and staffing within the assigned region, encompassing recruitment, training, development, promotion, succession planning, and compensation to meet business growth objectives.
Requirements
- A university degree in Business and/or Polymer Science disciplines.
- Minimum of 10 years of global experience in sales, product, and business management within Polymer Distribution, with relevant processing technologies and industry segments/markets, OEM, and customer knowledge.
- Proven ability to establish relationships at the top management level of principals.
- Strong communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and various levels.
