About Eldian Biomed & CloudLi
Eldian Biomed is a spin-off project based at the University of Bern's Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry & Pharmaceutical Sciences. Our flagship asset, CloudLi, is a lipid-based nano and microparticle platform designed to lubricate articular cartilage and deliver peptides, proteins, and small molecules directly to articular joints, with the goal of revolutionizing the treatment of osteoarthritis. Supported by an Innosuisse grant, we are in the process of building the preclinical data package necessary for first-in-human studies while developing our preclinical pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize liposomes/LNPs for the treatment of joint diseases.
- Characterize particles using techniques such as DLS, NTA, and cryoTEM, and conduct stability assays (HPLC).
- Load peptides, proteins, and small molecules into the formulations.
- Collaborate with chemists on peptide design, SPPS, and characterization.
- Execute in vitro evaluations, ex vivo testing, and rodent biodistribution studies.
- Perform tribological tests to quantify CloudLi-mediated cartilage lubrication.
- Maintain laboratory infrastructure and author protocols, reports, and IP-relevant documentation.
- Present results to founders and advisors.
Your Profile
Must haves
- PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nanomedicine, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Proven hands-on experience with liposome/LNP formulation and analysis.
- Solid grounding in nano drug delivery, biopharmaceutics, and analytical methods.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Eagerness to thrive in a fast-moving spin-off environment and assume multiple responsibilities.
Nice to haves
- Knowledge of SPPS or peptide conjugation.
- Experience with fluorescence microscopy, cell culture, and rodent handling (FELASA B or willingness to obtain).
- Experience with tribometry.
- Familiarity with QbD/DoE, GLP/GMP, and regulatory requirements.
