The Electrochemical Energy Systems Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at ETH Zurich is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position focused on light-driven CO2 capture.

Job Description

• Our group is actively developing a novel photoacid-based approach for efficient CO2 capture, optimizing both the local chemical environment in photoacids and their molecular structure to enhance sorption capacity and stability.
• We seek a postdoctoral researcher who will contribute to these efforts.
• You will join a diverse, inclusive, and supportive work environment that values scientific curiosity and creativity.

Profile

• PhD in Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
• Experience with in situ spectroscopy is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Self-driven, highly motivated, and strong teamwork skills.

• Photochemistry
• Advanced characterization techniques (e.g., synchrotron facilities, in-situ methods)
• CO2 capture/utilization (a plus)
