We are at the forefront of developing lab-on-chip technology (microfluidic technology) with applications spanning life sciences and biomedicine. Our interdisciplinary approach incorporates the design and manufacturing of miniaturized platforms, alongside their optimization for biochemical assays and analytical procedures.
For a third-party funded project spanning four years, we are excited to offer a position for a Postdoctoral Fellow.
The RadiantDx project represents a multidisciplinary collaboration focused on the critical diagnosis of sepsis—a severe medical condition where patients often exhibit vague symptoms such as high fever. Our aim is to create a miniaturized system for the rapid diagnosis of sepsis, thereby preventing unnecessary administration of antibiotics and enhancing patient survival and recovery. Collaborating with researchers from the Institute of Medical Microbiology at the University of Zurich, the Department of Informatics at ETH Zurich, and various other partners, we approach this challenge by integrating microfluidic technology, sequencing, and rapid data analysis.
Within the Bioanalytics Group, the PhD student and Postdoctoral Fellow will collaborate on diverse aspects of the microfluidic platform and sample preparation.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will collaborate with a PhD student on the following tasks:
The position will be based at ETH Zurich, offering a stimulating working environment with a diverse and interdisciplinary team.
